The bucking bronco achieves fame

Still not sure what that bucking bronco in the shop is actually for? Well, while we’re not ones to blow our own trumpets here at Ten-Point (Okay, okay, Brian is excluded from that statement…) we are very happy when someone else does a little trumpet... read more

Weight, it’s a heavy issue – Part 2

In Part 1 we talked about the weight of bikes and the potential weaknesses that may exist in super-light carbon fibre race frames. Here we’ll look at where weight can be saved on a bike. If you do really want a light bike though, is a super-light frame the best option... read more

Weight, it’s a heavy issue – Part 1

Bikes these days are getting lighter. The UCI limit for a ‘race’ bike may still be 6.8kg but it’s not difficult to build a bike lighter than that (and indeed that UCI limit may well reduce in the not too distant future), especially if you’re riding a bike that’s not... read more

Happy Ten-Point Customers...

We pride ourselves on making our customers happy!

I managed to find a Cobb saddle after a bit of scouting around and took Brian’s advice on the Morgan Blue chamois cream. These changes allowed me to race a Sprint tri on Sunday (~30 mins in the saddle) in comfort. Very little fidgeting on the saddle. I’ve subsequently moved the arm pads apart by ~50mm and up by ~15mm which makes all the difference in opening up the chest; that plus the saddle mean that during this morning’s 1h turbo workout, I found I was more relaxed and comfortable on the aerobars than on the basebar – a surprise. Finally, there’s an adjustable stem for my Felt on order which will allow me huge flexibility in lengthening the saddle-cockpit distance where I want it and will allow me to get the pads and shifters exactly where I need them. Not quite done yet, but I want to thank you for not only for helping me find the right saddle, but also in resetting my understanding of how to work with the FIST measurements. Very best, Martin

I went to Ten-Point in the hope of achieving better endurance and comfort on longer sportives. Spending 2 hours with Helen was a revelation to me. I learned more about bike fit and pedalling effectiveness in that 2 hours than a lifetime of doing it myself – and I’m not young. The outcome, with a couple of component changes on my road bike and a bit of careful measuring and fine tuning, is a noticeably better set-up with great improvement in ability to comfortably last out long rides. The fit has definitely reduced aches and pains and also recovery time after rides. There is more to do on saddle comfort but the total experience is a sensational improvement for me. I can thoroughly recommend Helen and Ten-Point. But, don’t expect an easy time; the fit amounts to a full 2 hour turbo session with the ocassional break for adjustments. Thanks Helen.

Who in their right mind would make their first ride after a radical new bike fit and a new saddle that looks like torture device, the behemoth that is the Chiltern 100?! Well I can report that after a Guru bike fit it was the most comfortable ride possible – thanks to that other Guru, Helen Hall! Great day out, thanks BlackFish!

This is awesome yesterday amazing i cant stop singing your praises to everyone, I will add positive comments and feedback, plus if i can join the black fish please that would be awesome. Last night got home and practiced the pedalling for another hour on my turbo and found need to raise my saddle a little higher so i could get that same feeling i got in the fit. Result was 100rpm easy and good hour of steady base work then did some shoulder rehab :-). Overall i was so impressed yesterday service knowledge and whole feel was awesome and yeah the guru was ok haha i joke but the real guru is you and Brian. Great bit of kit with even better people using it. Oh and my report just awesome, plus fyi the best bike fit and experience i ve ever had ever.

First ride out yesterday and I love it already. I only had chance too do 15 miles but I can’t wait too get out again. Thanks once again

Took the bike for a training ride over the weekend and covered off 120 miles. Really happy with the results actually on the road! Bike Fit; In a word awesome, but this was for two very different reasons. Firstly and even as I type this no back pain what so ever! As the primary reason for getting the fit I can only be but over the moon with this. Secondly and by far the more impressive was available power I had on ascent and breaking away from groups, in short this surprised me and those riding with me! I have no garmin to put this in numbers but I PB’d and it felt like I had more to give. Big smiles!!!! Changes to bike; Just gave me confidence, gears and brakes were crisp and surprisingly the stem really gave me a better feel when steering, really noticeable on descent at speed. Just chuffed with whole process, can’t wait for seat post to arrive! Not sure if you can really separate the fit from the changes but equally not sure I care. It just feels so good.
