MASAI BAREFOOT TECHNOLOGY, MBT ShoesMasai Barefoot Technology, MBT shoes are the original physiological footwear brand, built by a Swiss engineer and proud to be the antithesis of the traditional shoe: curved not flat sole; unstable not stable base; muscle-activating not passive; a positive effect on entire body, not just the feet. With a style for most occasions, every one of us should have at least one pair of MBT shoes, because we shouldn’t have sore feet. Find out about the lower profile MBT shoes below. The all-new lower profile MBT shoes:
And Masai Barefoot Technology moves on – again! Over the years, the engineers have continually improved the look, the performance and the comfort of Karl Muller’s original Swiss MBT invention. By cleverly integrating two layers of the classic MBT sole, the engineers have managed to create a sole with a significantly lower profile whilst maintaining the well-known benefits of the ‘anti-shoe’.
The new MBT shoes have a casual style for Spring/Summer 09 have been baptized with this so-called ‘Dual Board’ technology, and of course, Ten-Point has tested them for you.
Helen had a fractured fibula and had avoided a cast by not going for an X-ray for the first 2 weeks, and could ONLY walk in her beloved MBT Tambo boots. The MBT Tunisha arrived 3 weeks after the injury, so it was the perfect time to see if this new lower technology really worked, and did not compromise on balance and soft roll-through (we really should stop being so cynical – these MBT chaps really know what they are doing!). After a busy day, Helen realised she had stopped thinking about whether her ankle was less comfortable – because if anything, everything was even more comfortable!!! So, the official Ten-Point conclusion is that the new ‘Dual Board’ construction gets 10/10 on all MBTs important aspects:
• All-day comfort
• Instability, activating the body’s supporting muscle system
• Soft roll through the whole foot, encouraging a better posture and gait, reducing stress on hip, knee and foot joints
